UGA is now accepting applicants to UGA VetCAMP 2019, which is scheduled for June 16-22, 2019. This program is offered to rising high school juniors and seniors and rising college freshmen to evaluate their skills and competitiveness as future veterinarians, provide mentorship and help them experience veterinary medicine as an exciting career path. It’s a great experience and the students have a lot of fun while also learning about the profession. 

The application for VetCAMP 2019 is available now at (http://vet.uga.edu/academic/vetcamp). The deadline for all application materials is January 25, 2019. Please share this information with any qualified students who may be interested in veterinary medicine.

The cost of attending the program is $900 and covers lodging, meals, instruction and social activities. Financial assistance is available to students with demonstrated need. For more information regarding scholarship opportunities, please inform your students to contact vetcamp@uga.edu. They may also reach out to that email address with any general questions that they have regarding the program.

The Everett Williams Scholarship awards up to $1,500 annually and is renewable for up to four years. High school seniors from Oconee County with a 3.0 GPA or higher are eligible to apply. The applicant must also demonstrate financial need as well.

The admissions representative from The University of North Georgia will be at OCHS on Tuesday, January 15 during Warrior Period. The meeting will take place in the main conference room. Please sign up in the counseling office if interested.

The goal of The Julian and Jan Hester Memorial Scholarship is to assist deserving high school seniors in their first year of college and to promote community banking.

The scholarship is named after long-time Community Bank Association CEO, the late Julian Hester and his late daughter, Jan Hester. Jan was a senior at UGA when she died in an automobile accident in 1990. 

The scholarship applications can be picked up in the counseling office and must be returned to Oconee State Bank by Friday, April 5, 2019.

EXPERIENCEBERRY is a time for students and parents to learn more about Berry College. This will be a great chance to have a campus tour, meet faculty/students, and attend various sessions on the different aspects of Berry. The dates are January 24 and 25. Walton EMC is proud to again offer scholarships to senior students. In the spring of 2019, approximately 30 scholarships will be awarded to seniors whose primary residence is served by Walton EMC. Each scholarship will be worth $4,000 to students who best demonstrate community service, hard work, and perseverance. The successful candidate will not necessarily have the top grades in the class, but will have demonstrated their willingness to help others, study hard, and succeed despite any obstacles that they may have overcome. These scholarships have been awarded to students who have less than a "B" average.  The applications can be picked up in the counseling office, and are due to Walton EMC no later than Thursday, January 31. There are no exceptions to the deadline. 

High school seniors planning on majoring in Agribusiness, Agricultural Sciences, Environmental Sciences, Wildlife, Forestry, Horticulture, Natural Resources, Plant Sciences, Urban Planning, or Water/Soil Resources, may be interested in applying for The Garden Club of Georgia scholarships.  All applications are available online at gardenclub.uga.edu/scholarships.html. High school students can apply for The Garden Club of Georgia, Deep South and National Garden Clubs scholarships. The Cherokee Rose scholarship is for graduate students only. All materials are due by February 1, 2019. 

The Georgia Pilot Foundation will award up to three $1,500 scholarships for outstanding community service to a graduating senior. The Lynda Goodwin Volunteer Scholarship can be picked up in the counseling office and is due back on January 15. If you have at least a B average and actively volunteer in the community, please consider applying. Please apply in advance as you will need to gather a few recommendations and type a short essay on your volunteer experience. 

Last year, Agnes Scott College introduced the Elizabeth Kiss Trailblazer Scholarship, named in honor of our eighth college president Dr. Elizabeth Kiss, the founder of our SUMMIT global learning and leadership development curriculum. In August, we welcomed the largest first-year class in our small college’s history (almost 330 students), and more than 200 of those students were recipients of the Trailblazer Scholarship!

If  students apply by our Jan. 15 Early Action II application deadline and meet the minimum qualifications, they could qualify for the Trailblazer – a renewable $25,000-per-year scholarship!

To qualify, a student must simply:

• Complete an application for admission to Agnes Scott (no separate application for the Trailblazer Scholarship is necessary) before our Jan. 15 Early Action II deadline
• Have a cumulative 3.75/4.0 GPA as reported by their high school OR,
• Have a 1250 SAT or 26 ACT score

If the student is admitted to the college and meets the scholarship qualifications mentioned above, the student WILL receive the Trailblazer Scholarship!

Samford University McWhorter School of Pharmacy is offering a one week Pharmacy Camp this summer for high school students that are interested in investigating a career as a Pharmacist.  We would like to invite your students to participate in this McWhorter School of Pharmacy Camp.  During the week of pharmacy camp they will experience hands-on learning about health careers in pharmacy, participate in tours of local health care facilities and local pharmacies, participate in compounding activities and hands on demonstrations in the McWhorter School of Pharmacy science laboratory.   Students who attend the camp will have the unique opportunity to spend time on the Samford campus and experience campus life with us, spend time with pharmacy professors, and have a lot of time to interact with other students also interested in careers in pharmacy.
