UGA is now accepting applicants to UGA VetCAMP 2019, which is scheduled for June 16-22, 2019. This program is offered to rising high school juniors and seniors and rising college freshmen to evaluate their skills and competitiveness as future veterinarians, provide mentorship and help them experience veterinary medicine as an exciting career path. It’s a great experience and the students have a lot of fun while also learning about the profession. 

The application for VetCAMP 2019 is available now at (http://vet.uga.edu/academic/vetcamp). The deadline for all application materials is January 25, 2019. Please share this information with any qualified students who may be interested in veterinary medicine.


The cost of attending the program is $900 and covers lodging, meals, instruction and social activities. Financial assistance is available to students with demonstrated need. For more information regarding scholarship opportunities, please inform your students to contact vetcamp@uga.edu. They may also reach out to that email address with any general questions that they have regarding the program.


The Everett Williams Scholarship awards up to $1,500 annually and is renewable for up to four years. High school seniors from Oconee County with a 3.0 GPA or higher are eligible to apply. The applicant must also demonstrate financial need as well.

The admissions representative from The University of North Georgia will be at OCHS on Tuesday, January 15 during Warrior Period. The meeting will take place in the main conference room. Please sign up in the counseling office if interested.

The goal of The Julian and Jan Hester Memorial Scholarship is to assist deserving high school seniors in their first year of college and to promote community banking.

The scholarship is named after long-time Community Bank Association CEO, the late Julian Hester and his late daughter, Jan Hester. Jan was a senior at UGA when she died in an automobile accident in 1990. 

The scholarship applications can be picked up in the counseling office and must be returned to Oconee State Bank by Friday, April 5, 2019.

This will be a great chance to have a campus tour, meet faculty/students, and attend various sessions on the different aspects of Berry. The dates are January 24 and 25.
