The Rotary Club of Oconee County is looking for a student who has achieved, as a minimum, an overall GPA of at least a "B", who is dedicated to and perseveres with a "service above self" attitude. The student must be a senior in the Interact Club in good standing. Applications can be picked up in the Counseling Office. The application deadline is April 14

Alpha Iota Delta of Chi Psi Fraternity of Georgia Tech is proud to announce the Bryan Scholarship again this year. A scholarship of $1,000 will be awarded to a qualified male student entering Georgia Tech. The scholarship is being offered by the fraternity in memory of Oscar Virgil Bryan, Jr.  Applications can be picked up in the Counseling Office and are due by April 30, 2014.

The Athens Tech High School Merit-Based Scholarship is offered each year to a High School student graduating from one of the public high schools within Athens Technical College’s service area.  Eligible counties include Athens-Clarke, Elbert, Greene, Hart, Madison, Oconee, Oglethorpe, Taliaferro, Walton, and Washington-Wilkes.

Camp Journey is a grief camp for children ages 7-17 who have lost a loved one. This camp is designed to help kids improve their understanding of loss and grief. Stanford University will select the finest students from across the country to participate in its summer programs for high school students. The summer programs offer highly motivated and intellectually curious students the opportunity to explore and discover topics not typically taught in secondary schools. The Athens Area Retired Educators Association is offering two, $500.00 scholarships to two senior OCHS students. The characteristics of the selected student will be based on the following:
 1. Great personal qualities (personality, perseverance, morals, dedication, etc.)
2. Breadth of school activities
3.Volunteerism/community participation/work experience
4. GPA
5. Humanness
If you are interested in being nominated, please have a teacher, counselor or administrator write a recommendation on your behalf. The recommendation should include the areas mentioned above. Please have your nomination papers in to the Counseling Office by March 19.

High school juniors who have demonstrated superior academic excellence and have a potential for future success can be nominated for the prestigious Presbyterian College Fellows Award.  Juniors nominated must be in the top 10 percent of the class with a weighted GPA of a 3.6 or higher. The student must also have a SAT score of 1100 or higher (math and critical reading) or 24 ACT composite score or higher.  Selection as a PC Fellow grants students consideration for scholarships to Presbyterian College.
