Senior students who are planning on pursuing a post-secondary major in any field of agriculture may be interested in applying for the Larry Risse Memorial Scholarship, sponsored by the Clarke-Oconee Cattlemen's Association. Applications can be picked up in the counseling office, and must be submitted by April 15.

Graduating students who are interested in an agriculture or natural resources related field of study can apply for the 2019 Polly Hardigree Ward Memorial Scholarship. Applications can be picked up in the counseling office, and must be turned in by April 15. This is a $1,000 award scholarship. 

Delta Kappa Gamma Society International (Gamma Tau Chapter) is offering a graduating student a $400 scholarship. The selected recipient must be planning on majoring in the education field in college. Applications can be picked up in the counseling office and are due by April 8th.

Child Development 101 Summer Youth Camp at UGA (www.georgiacenter.uga.edu) Is a chance for teens to master key skills, spend time in UGA's Child Development Lab and complete a service project interacting with young children. Ages 13-15.

Charles Ivie was a lifelong resident of Oconee County and a graduate of OCHS. He was a successful businessman and served as the Mayor of Watkinsville. Mayor Ivie believed in service to others, especially to his local community and to children with special needs. He was made of integrity and was committed to making the community better and one that people of all walks of life could enjoy.

The Charles Ivie Memorial Scholarship has been created to honor his legacy and provide assistance to a graduate of OCHS as he or she pursues a higher degree. The amount of the scholarship is $500.

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

1. Acceptance to an accredited college or university.
2. An overall GPA of a 3.0 or the equivalent of a B average.
3. Completed application and letter of recommendation from a teacher, administrator, coach, community leader, etc. 

Applications can be picked up in the counseling office, and must be returned to Coach Roach by April 10, 2019.

The Drew Swan Sibling Scholarship is a one-year $1,500 award for a sibling of an individual with a developmental disability. 

All interested applicants must be:

1. The sibling of an individual with a developmental disability.
2. Accepted into a nonprofit higher education institution.
3. In pursuit of a 2 or 4 year degree.

Applications can be picked up in the counseling office and are due by April 30.

An admissions representative from GA Gwinnett College will be at OCHS during Warrior Period on April 10. Please sign up in the counseling office if you are interested in attending. This will be in the front office conference room.

Peach State Federal Credit Union is offering both the Legacy Student Scholarship and the Dr. John Jackson Student Scholarship for seniors who intend on majoring in Education. Both scholarships are worth $2,000. 

The Legacy Scholarship honors the legacy of past and present board members and employees who have served PSFCU for 20 years or more. The Dr. John Jackson Student Scholarship is in honor of Dr. John Jackson, retired Superintendent of Oconee County Schools, for his contributions to the Oconee County School District. Applications can be picked up in the counseling office, and are due by March 15.

This is a reminder that Oglethorpe University admissions will be here during warrior period on Wednesday, March 6. Please sign up in the counseling office if interested in attending. 

The American Legion is once again searching for motivated rising seniors to sponsor the Girls and Boys State summer sessions. These are week-long courses in state and local government. It is a "leadership action program" where students develop a working knowledge of the structure of government. Activities include legislative sessions, court proceedings, assemblies, and recreational programs. Boys State will be held from May 26-June1 at Riverside Military Academy. Girls State will be held from June 9-14 at Georgia Southern University.
