Don’t forget to attend the PROBE College Fair with your student on Tuesday, September 20 from 6:00-8:30 at the Classic Center in downtown Athens.  There will be over 100 colleges from Georgia and the Southeast represented.  This is a wonderful opportunity for Freshmen and Sophomores to see the variety of post-secondary options they have.  For Juniors and Seniors, PROBE is a chance to start narrowing down what they are really looking for in a college.

If you are the parent of a Junior who intends to take the SAT this year, the best practice and feedback to prepare them for the test can be gotten by retaking the PSAT.  Not only will they get back a score, they will also get access to an online customized study guide to prepare them for the SAT.  Students can sign up with Joyce Oliver in the front office and the cost is $16.

Emory Scholars awards are renewable for four years of undergraduate study to Emory University, provided the recipients maintain high standards of personal and academic excellence. Distinguished faculty serve as program directors and advisers.

The Emory Goizueta Scholars Program is for students in their last year of high school who have demonstrated not only outstanding academic achievement and strong ethical character, but also a sustained interest in business and propensity to create significant positive changes in organizations.

For complete details on both of these prestigious awards, please visit www.emory.edu/admission/scholars. Only serious students who meet the criteria should apply. All nomination and application materials to be completed and submitted by November 15.  Please see Mr. Guthas in the guidance office if you are interested in being nominated.
