The Oconee County Chamber of Commerce will be hosting a local scholarship fair on Tuesday, October 22, 2019 6:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m at the Oconee County Civic Center   Representatives will be present from approximately 20 local businesses and organizations that offer scholarships specifically to Oconee County students.

Augusta University will be hosting two fall preview days this year. The event dates are Saturday, September 28 as well as Friday, November 8. Please visit www.augusta.edu/visit for more information about Augusta University and to register.


The Athens Area Human Relations Council, Inc. will soon be selecting students to receive scholarships at the annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Awards Banquet in January. Applications can be picked up in the counseling office and must be post-marked by October 26, 2019. The awards banquet will be held on Saturday, January 18 at the Classic Center at 5:00 PM.  Please pick up an application as soon as possible so that there is enough time to complete it, along with the supporting documentation needed. 


Since its founding in 1839, Virginia Military Institute has recognized and rewarded outstanding academic achievement. Approximately 100 cadets attend the Institute on full and partial academic scholarships. To be an Institute Scholar, candidates must have a 3.7 GPA and a SAT score of 1350/ACT of 31. The candidate should also be in the top 10% of the senior class.
