FOOD FOR THOUGHT  - OARC’s Family Dining Day is October 26, 2011. For participating restaurants visit our website: www.oconeeconnection.org.  Currently the following restaurants are participating: Baberitos, Chef Ming’s, Chop & Hops, Chicken Express, Dairy Queen, Dickey’s, Fox’s Pizza, Girasoles, Jersey Mike’s Subs, La Parilla, Mirkos, Piccolo’s, Your Pie and  Zaxby’s at Butler Crossing. Take your family out to dinner on October 26 and you will be helping Oconee County’s school children. Participating restaurants are donating a percentage of their proceeds to support the Oconee County Mentor Program.

Univision 34's Liga de Campeones Scholarship is designed to motivate Latino youth to pursue higher education. Students must be seniors who are bilingual (English/Spanish) and have at least a 3.0 GPA. Applicants must also be of Hispanic descent. Applications can be picked up in the guidance office and must be turned in with all other required information by February 28, 2012.

The Athens Area Human Relations Council, Inc. will be selecting senior students to receive scholarships at their annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Awards Banquet in January. Applications for this scholarship can be picked up in the guidance office. Along with the application and supporting documents, you must also participate in at least one Athens Area Human Relations Council, Inc. Community Service Project between January 2012 and August 2012. Applications must be posmarked by November 12, 2011.
